Mogán Beach

Playa de Mogán, located in the south of the Canary Islands, is the most recommended beach for families thanks to its golden sand, calm waters and calmness.

Las Canteras Beach

Las Canteras Beach, in the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It is an ideal beach for long walks thanks to its more than two kilometres of golden sand.

During the day, you can enjoy the sun by the sand sculptures, after renting sun loungers and umbrellas, or surf at its southern end. Meanwhile, children can play on a shore with little waves, in the playgrounds or in the sports areas.

It has access for people with reduced mobility, parking, showers and changing rooms.

When the sun goes down, it is a real pleasure to see the avenue lit up by the nightlife of its terraces, pubs and restaurants.

This beach, unlike those we show you in this post, is not recommended for people with reduced mobility or with pushchairs, because to access the beach you will have to go down some stairs.

Maspalomas Beach

In the south of the island of Gran Canaria, bordered by the Special Nature Reserve of the Maspalomas Dunes, is the beach of the tourist resort of Maspalomas: almost three kilometres of soft golden sand and little surf.

On its western side, the beach connects with the tourist centre of Maspalomas and offers ideal services for families with children, such as sun loungers and parasols for rent, showers and beach bars.

Ravine of the Kestrels

This ravine is one of the most beautiful areas of the island, it carries water all year round and let’s hope it stays that way!

It is located in the Special Nature Reserve of Los Marteles (Valsequillo) and within the Protected Landscape of Lomo Magullo in Telde”, which means that you will cross two different municipalities on this route.

On this route we can find one of the largest willow forests of the island and 10% of the exclusive flora of the archipelago, streams with water every day of the year and beautiful waterfalls.

In addition, the route is highly recommended for children, as most of it is completely flat and not dangerous.

Climbing Roque Nublo, Tejeda

The ascent on foot to the Roque Nublo can be a nice challenge for children. It is one of the most important symbols of Gran Canaria and one of the highest points. What’s more, the path is in good condition practically all year round. You should also bear in mind that, although it is only 3 kilometres round trip, the first part is all uphill.

Los Tilos de Moya

The Los Tilos de Moya trail is one of the easiest and most beautiful family trails in Gran Canaria. This Special Nature Reserve is located within the Doramas Rural Park, specifically, in a 2-kilometre stretch within the Moya ravine. This is the location of one of the small remaining populations of Laurisilva forest in Gran Canaria.
