The best places to live on the Costa del Sol

Many people decide to live on the Costa del Sol after visiting the area.  It’s a unique place, with an excellent climate, agreeable towns to live in and many places to visit. That’s why we explain to you here the main places of interest.

Where to live on the Costa del Sol

These are some of the most interesting and charming towns in the region.

Marbella

Here you have a city atmosphere which doesn’t have the classic problems of big cities. You won’t find pollution or crowds. It’s a residential city. You can choose multiple areas in its popular Golden Mile, which covers a great distance and is right in front of the beach.

The climate offers all the advantages of the south, with the Mediterranean right next to the city, and generally clement temperatures for the whole year. In addition, it’s not an area of excessive tourism, but one where tourism has remained in check.

Regarding buildings, you can look for an urban-style flat or a house in one of the city’s many urbanizations and open spaces. It will depend on your preferences.

Puerto Banús

The heart of Marbella. The place of performances, luxury and shopping. Apart from being one of the most beautiful parts of the whole area, above all, it is a social centre, a place full of life where you can find the most interesting commercial areas of the whole Costa del Sol. Luxury clothes, exclusive brands and high-quality restaurants.

When living in Puerto Banús, you can enjoy the same advantages as in Marbella: the climate, atmosphere and tranquility. In addition to well-distributed leisure zones, which won’t affect your rest at all. There are many very different urbanizations or centres which have been built around this marina, so you can choose the place which best suits your needs.

Estepona

You may want to live in this area of the Costa del Sol and also enjoy a smaller setting, with more charm and personality. This is, without a doubt, Estepona. A classic village which even today maintains the key elements of Andalusian architecture. A quiet place, full of light and beauty which is absolutely stunning.

Also by the sea, the town has one of the longest and most spectacular promenades in Spain. In addition, as for housing, you can find apartments, townhouses or houses within urbanizations, so you can also choose what kind of life you want to live in this idyllic place. Of course, it has all kinds of shops and restaurants so that you can enjoy your leisure time.

Other places with a boundless charm

Furthermore, along the Costa del Sol, we find other locations which stand out for their high-quality of life, white sandy beaches and some of the best golf courses. Among them we can highlight:

  • Mijas: just 30 kilometres from Malaga, we find this town nestled in the mountains of the same name.
  • Fuengirola: very close to the previous town, it stands out for being in total harmony with the sea, with the emphasis on its 8 km of beach.
  • Benalmádena: it is one of the main tourist destinations in the province, something which has been achieved thanks to its beaches and the quality of its infrastructure.
  • Torremolinos: a town which has undergone major changes in recent decades, going from being a small fishing village to one of the main destinations for tourists in search of sun and sand.

Now that you know that you are going to live on the Costa del Sol, you just have to figure out something equally important: where are you going to do so. We help you decide.
